fall art market recap!

I had such a fun time at the fall art market pop-up at Faction Brewing, in Alameda, last weekend! I’ve done these markets a handful of times; I love seeing how my display evolves and how I’m able to learn some good, helpful tidbits from each show.

At the first art market I ever did (in 2019), I didn’t sell anything but still found it to be a meaningful experience, as I was in the very beginning stages of my art business journey. What I find interesting is that, in the last two art pop-ups I’ve done, the seahorse prints (one of which is in the photo above) were a top-seller, even though these prints were available at the very first show I did. In the marketing sense, I’m learning how much it helps to have a cohesive and well-designed display that truly showcases my art.

My first art market in 2019.

Of course, also, these years of art practice have improved my skills significantly. I’ve taken several acrylic painting and watercolor design classes in person and online. And, just painting as often as I can helps to build muscle memory even if the final product isn’t anything I plan to put out there in the world. I’m also so grateful to have a community of like-minded women artist friends with whom I share a beautiful studio space in a brick building above a cafe and park! See a couple pics below!

I’m hoping to do art markets more often, so definitely sign up for my email newsletter (go to my contact page) and be sure to follow me on Instagram @nisha_paints!
